Case Study - Face Pain

I have treated a lady who has had 7 years of sever face pain. She was given pain killers by her GP which didn't work at all so she resorted to using a Tens Machine to ease the pain.

found that the patient had multiple tight nerves that were causing the pain and after a few treatments the pain was gone. Lydia

Case Study - Vertigo

I treated a patient who had suffered from severe vertigo which made her fall on a frequent basis.

I found she was tight in her neck and that this was triggering her vertigo. It was gone after one treatment.

Case Study - Back & Waist Pain

Mrs C came in to the clinic complaining of constant lower back and waist pain after slipping on ice and jarring her back 6 months earlier.  Performing manual tasks such as housework had become very difficult and painful, as well as caring for her mother.

When assessing her range of movement, it was clear that she had decreased mobility in the sacroiliac joints (the joints between the spine and pelvis) coming from the piriformis muscles situated within the buttocks.

Treatment sessions involved:
  • * joint mobilisations to help free up the sacroiliac joints
  • * trigger point massage to help loosen up the tight and restricted muscles
  • * craniosacral therapy (CST) techniques to help diagnose the problematic structures, and treat them more precisely

  • Mrs C was given exercises to be done at home to aid in the recovery. After 8 treatment sessions Mrs C’s pain from which she had suffered for 6 months was completely gone; she was back to riding her horse, caring for her mother and performing all housework pain free.

Case Study - Back Pain

During the course of her treatment for low back pain Mrs M mentioned that she also had a problem with regular faecal incontinence. She was waiting for a special test of her anal sphincter on the NHS. The special machine needed to do this had been broken for several months and there was a date in sight for a proper diagnosis. Without the test no treatment was on offer and her condition was stopping her from leaving the house on anything except urgent tasks due to worry and the embarrassment of accidents in public.

On examination the incontinence problem was due to the alteration in the angle of the nerve and connective tissue around her anus. This related in part to low back pain, which was caused by a joint problem in her left foot !!

She was waiting for corrective surgery to the left foot, but meantime, we gave her back and connective tissue/nerve treatment, which resolved the incontinence problem for weeks at a time.

Until she has her left foot surgery she will need to attend every 3 to 4 weeks to keep this flexible. Once that is done all problems should stay away.

However in the meantime she can now go out shopping without worry and she has no backache.

And … the NHS diagnostic machine is still not repaired …
